Toyota and its innovations are now an important topic to discuss about!
While Toyota aims to provide reliability and easy-to-fix cars for their customers, we should not forget their focus in innovation as well. Even though luxury is not their go to, Toyota’s innovative approach takes us in an almost brand new field; fuel cell technology, a big step towards an all-electric future.

With all the electric cars out there, what makes fuel cell technology unique?
The technology aims to produce electricity through an electrochemical reaction that takes place in a hydrogen fuel cell stack. This stack combines hydrogen and oxygen to create water while generating an electric current.
How does this exactly work?
When the driver presses the accelerator, a power request is sent, opening the injectors and allowing hydrogen to flow from the tank to the fuel cell. Inside the fuel cell, hydrogen is directed to the anode, while oxygen from the surrounding air is directed to the cathode. Hydrogen and oxygen undergo an electrochemical reaction facilitated by the fuel cell’s optimal conditions, including heat, humidity, and a platinum catalyst. This reaction results in the formation of water molecules as hydrogen bonds with oxygen. Additionally, the separation of hydrogen’s proton and electron activates the hydrogen.

Toyota’s fuel cell technology is driving us towards a greener future. By combining hydrogen and oxygen, their innovative system generates electricity while producing only water. With their commitment to innovation and sustainability, Toyota is leading the way towards a cleaner automotive industry.
