Michael Schumacher’s iconic car from the 2003 Formula 1 season fetched a whopping $13.2 million at auction. The Formula 1 legend’s car was auctioned off in Geneva, Switzerland, with the winning bid exceeding $13 million.
The F-2003 model GA 229 set a new price record in the F1 car market. According to AFP, Southeby’s auction house confirmed the sale at this price. Schumacher’s 2001 used car previously sold for $7.5 million, with the latest auction fetching twice as much.
The German won the 2003 championship with the F-2003 model for the sixth time out of seven personal titles, while the Italian team won the constructors’ title with the help of Barrichello.
The sale of this car is just another example of how much people love Michael Schumacher.
